The Kinistino Clarion -  With the motto, Our News – Our Way, The Kinistino Clarion considers itself part of the community and therefore focuses on coverage of local news and events, promoting a cohesive and bonded community while providing readers with information they need to know. It is a cover to cover read – enjoyed by faithful supporters. In operation since December, 2005, The Clarion is available in printed form from local businesses or by email subscription – a service which provides subscribers with a full color issue emailed directly to their inboxes. As part of the community – this local business is also a strong supporter of the community – often promoting or organizing local events such as Trade Shows, Olde Fashioned Christmas, Kinistino Winter Festival, Free Street Hockey, etcetera – and provides a blog where readers can download any photos for free.  Contact Karey Cay, the publisher of the Kinistino Clarion, by calling 864-2247 or e-mail kinistino@msn.com  To check out the blog, go to:  http://kinistinonews.spaces.live.com

The Kinistino/Birch Hills Post-Gazette, a weekly publication, boasts a large circulation. It is a locally owned newspaper and contains news from Kinistino, Birch Hills, Weldon, Meskanaw, Ethelton, Brancepeth and the remaining areas surrounding Kinistino.  In 1982, The Kinistino Post won every award presented by the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspaper Association. Included were the categories of best front page, best editorial page and best all-around newspaper.  To subscribe, contact the Melfort Journal at 306-752-5737.

Besides local news, daily papers from major cities are readily available to local residents, including the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, The National and Financial Post and the Prince Albert Herald.

Kinistino and district is fortunate to enjoy radio reception from AM and FM stations throughout Saskatchewan. Through this aspect of the media the community receives local, provincial, federal and world news as it happens. With stations in Prince Albert and Melfort both local events and weather forecasts are available.

Both major Canadian television companies, the CBC and CTV, have stations which Kinistino can tune in to. As well, one French language station can be viewed. Satellite dish reception has proven to be excellent in the area.
