While the Canadian National Railway provides only carload freight service and air service is limited to an air strip servicing small aircraft, Kinistino is fortunate to be located on the major highway serving east-central Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan Transportation Company busline serves Kinistino with freight and passenger service. Two buses in each direction pass through the Town on a daily basis and allow for connections to all major centres in the province and connections inter-provincially. In addition, freight service is provided by cartage companies on a regular basis.
Kinistino is one of few communities that can boast of the quality of their streets. Approximately 95% of the streets are paved and regularly upgraded, with the remaining surfaces being gravel. Resurfacing plans continue and a completion plan to have the entire town paved was recently drafted.
